Inter Milan midfielders Davide Frattesi and Piotr Zielinski are both eager to take part in tomorrow’s clash against Udinese who happens to be their preferred target.
The Nerazzurri traveled to Udine on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s big clash against Kosta Runjaic’s side.
The Italian champions will be desperate to put their campaign back on the right track. In their last two rounds, they settled for a disappointing draw in Monza and suffered a Derby loss at the hands of AC Milan.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi’s men cannot afford another misstep. However, they will have to do it without the influential Nicolo Barella.
The star midfielder suffered an injury that ruled out the contest, leaving the Nerazzurri with a significant gap in the middle of the park.
Therefore, Frattesi and Zielinski will be vying for a starting role alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Italian is the favorite to get the nod ahead of the Pole. Nevertheless, both players will be hellbent on making a statement following their lack of playing time in the early weeks of the season.
As FcInter1908 points out, the Nerazzurri duo also have another thing in common: An impressive record against Udinese.
The stats suggest that Zebrette is in fact the favorite victim for both players.
Frattesi has already bagged five goals against the Friulians in his career. This includes a last-gasp winner last season that put the Nerazzurri on the cusp of winning the Serie A title.
As for Zielinski, he scored four goals against his former club, making it his preferred target alongside Milan.
So it remains to be seen if any of them will enhance his record tomorrow.
