Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella is unlikely to be fit for his team’s Serie A clash with Como next Monday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the 27-year-old is more likely to return from injury in time for the Serie A match away to Cagliari.

Yesterday, Italy international midfielder Barella underwent tests with Inter’s medical staff.

These tests confirmed that the 27-year-old has picked up a thigh injury.

The problem is nothing more serious than a slight elongation of the adductor muscles of Barella’s right thigh.

Still, this injury was enough to see the former Cagliari midfielder miss yesterday’s Coppa Italia clash with Udinese.

Naturally, the aim will be to get Barella back available as soon as possible.

And the wait will not be long. The Italian international did not suffer a major injury.

However, Barella also will not rush back to the pitch. There will be plenty of caution with his recovery.

And according to Sky, that means that it is unlikely Barella will be available for Inter’s next match.

The Nerazzurri take on Como next Monday in Serie A.

However, Barella should be available for the following match.

On the 28th, Inter travel to Sardinia to take on Barella’s old team Cagliari. That will be the Nerazzurri’s last match of 2024.

And according to Sky, Barella should be available for that match.
