Inter Women’s hard-fought battle not enough: 3-3 in the derby | OneFootball

All things considered, a derby is a thrilling game and this one certainly lived up to expectations by bringing us brilliant goals and top-level football. AC Milan fought back at the last minute to prevent Piovani's side's celebrations after the prestigious performance with goals from Milinkovic, Cambiaghi and Wullaert though luck was not on their side with the two Nerazzurre own goals.

We were dangerous right away with Wullaert taking a shot, showing our hunger. The Nerazzurre had a lot of chances in the opening minutes and Cambiaghi had a shot stopped by Giuliani.

At the 15-minute mark, Inter got their first corner and Serturini did brilliantly to assist Milinkovic who took us ahead from close range.

Inter weren’t going to settle for that though and AC Milan didn’t back down. Dangerous chances came for both sides: though not scoring, Mascarello and Ijeh had shots for the Rossonere, the latter saved by Rúnarsdóttir.

In the 38th minute, AC Milan went level: Dompig put a cross into the middle and Renzotti forced Merlo to send the ball into the net.

However, in the final minutes of the first half, Inter fought back once again to take the lead. Two corners and one protagonist: Serturini took and Cambiaghi got her head to it but it was saved. On the second attempt, copy and paste: this time Giuliani couldn’t keep Cambiaghi out and Inter went into the break ahead.

The second half started with Inter in the lead and pushing for another: Bartoli to Cambiaghi first and then Bartoli herself had a go from the corner, almost making it 3-1.

The first 15 minutes of the second half continued with both sides managing possession. However, in the space of a few minutes, everything happened: AC Milan went level with another own goal - Renzotti’s cross from the right was deflected into the net.

However, the excitement of going level for the Rossonere didn’t last long as after only 3 minutes, Inter retook the lead with a great goal from Wullaert, assisted by Csiszàr. In the following minutes, AC Milan looked to level it for a third time and did so with a tap-in from Ijeh to make it 3-3.

The thrilling final moments saw the Nerazzurri fighting to the last: Piovani’s side, despite the brilliant performance, were forced to settle for a draw in a derby that definitely entertained all the fans at the Arena.
