Drew Spence was on target for her country as she helped Jamaica to a 3-2 victory over South Africa in an international friendly on Tuesday morning.
Trailing 1-0 down in the first half, three goals in an 18-minute spell helped the Reggae Girlz to come from behind to beat South Africa, with Drew netting the second goal for her country.
A cross from the right area of the box was met by the midfielder in the middle and she sent a powerful header past Kaylin Swart, who managed to get a strong hand on the ball but couldn’t keep it out.
The 32-year-old went on to complete a full 90 minutes for her country as Kayla Jay Mckenna’s wrapped up the win despite a late goal in stoppage time from South Africa’s Amogelang Motau.
Lenna Gunning-Williams featured for England Under-23s at Doncaster Rovers’ Eco-Power Stadium as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Sweden.
The young forward was a late second half substitute for Emma Coates’ side, replacing Sara Brasero in first minute of stoppage time, and she made a quick impact, winning a penalty for the Young Lionesses.
Katie Robinson saw her spot-kick saved by Sweden’s Sofia Hjern to secure the win for the visitors in Group B of the Women’s Under-23 European competition.
Defender Ella Morris didn’t feature in the clash against Sweden having been withdrawn from the Under-23s group after picking up an injury in the goalless draw with Norway last Friday.
