Italy receive squad boost as Juventus medicals clear Andrea Cambiaso of injury | OneFootball

Luciano Spalletti breathed a sigh of relief seeing Andrea Cambiaso arrive at the Italy squad training centre after sustaining a knock.

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Andrea Cambiaso made it to the Italy training camp in Appiano Gentile after recently limping off the field during Juventus’ defeat to Fiorentina. The Azzurri head coach Luciano Spalletti called up the full-back for the two legs against Germany in the Nations League quarter-finals.

Cambiaso started the match from the bench and came on at the start of the second half. However, he was forced off in the 86th minute after feeling severe pain following a challenge.

The Juventus medical centre cleared the 25-year-old of any significant injury this morning as he then travelled to join the Italy camp.

Now, the player is set to be assessed by his nation’s medical team before getting the nod to train and play with the side in the upcoming knockout clashes.
