Davide Frattesi could make a shock start out of position in attack for Inter Milan against Barcelona on Wednesday.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi could have a tough decision to make in attack on Wednesday.

Nerazzurri striker Marcus Thuram will reportedly return to fitness for the Champions League semifinal first leg. However, there remain significant doubts about the Frenchman’s readiness to start.

Therefore, Thuram may only be available off the bench for the Champions League clash.

In that case, it would be somewhat slim pickings for Inzaghi apart from Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.

However, the Austrian has had persistent physical issues in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Taremi has had injury struggles of his own. Moreover, the Iranian international has looked badly out of form in his last few appearances.

Furthermore, Joaquin Correa is not even a part of Inter’s Champions League squad.

Therefore, Inzaghi may decide to go with an unorthodox solution in attack, reports La Repubblica.

The Inter coach could play midfielder Davide Frattesi in the forward line.

The 25-year-old certainly knows where the goal is. He is Inter’s most prolific midfielder over the past couple seasons, excluding Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty goals.

And Inzaghi could therefore utilize Frattesi in attack alongside Martinez against Barcelona.
