Fabian Hurzeler watched on as his team picked up a point against Newcastle United.
It may have taken a late Alexander Isak for NUFC to get parity.
However, Fabian Hurzeler will know that his team were fortunate to avoid defeat.
The Brighton boss admitting that his players weren’t in control of the game and you only need to look at all the key match stats to see that Newcastle United were the better and more dominant team, with more possession, corners, touches of the ball in the opposition box, shots, efforts on target, than Brighton.
Fabian Hurzeler reflecting on Brighton 1 Newcastle 1:
“I have a mixture of feelings.
“I am proud of the team for sticking together but it was not our perfect match in possession.
“Overall, there is a mixture of feelings, but we try to take the positives away.
“We conceded a cheap penalty.
“We have to accept it and try to make the best out of it.
“I saw a good team performance, although we made some easy mistakes.
“It’s a little bit mixed feelings. On one side, we can be proud of the performance. On the other side, it was a late goal for Newcastle.
“Of course, we wanted more and to win. Overall, we have to accept the draw and try to see the positive things because there were a lot.
“It’s not easy to get the control against Newcastle.
“We have to find solutions.
“We were not always able to control the game because of Newcastle’s intensity.”
