James Ward-Prowse is currently on a flight to London from Dubai where Nottingham Forest are having a warm-weather training to return to West Ham United, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein recently reported that the Hammers and the City Ground club have agreed for the 30-year-old to return to the London Stadium club as manager Graham Potter is keen on having him available for the second half of the campaign.

The West Ham boss wants to bolster his options in the middle of the park, and Ward-Prowse has the quality to improve the Irons.

There was no formal recall option in the loan deal that took him from West Ham to Forest last summer, with both clubs reaching a mutual agreement which will see the veteran midfielder complete a return to his parent club before the end of the day.

Ward-Prowse has made ten appearances for Forest, with only three late appearances off the bench since last Christmas, and he will fancy his chances of playing regularly under Potter at the London Stadium club.

The former Southampton star played 37 Premier League games for West Ham last term, weighing in with seven goals and seven assists, and their new boss could do with such a quality and experienced midfielder within his ranks.

Despite being ten points and three places above the relegation zone, the Hammers need a strong end to the campaign to keep themselves far away from the drop, and some quality additions in the coming hours will go a long way.

Qualifying for Europe next season is still very much possible with just 13 points currently between them and the top-six, and Potter will be desperate to prove his quality over the next four months.
