West Ham United’s trip to Goodison Park on March 15, 2025, ended in a 1-1 stalemate against Everton in the Premier League, leaving fans with mixed feelings. A lacklustre first half gave way to a spirited second, but a late equalizer from Jake O’Brien denied the Hammers a much-needed victory. Here’s how the players fared in this Premier League clash.
The French goalkeeper had a quiet day for the most part, dealing with routine stops. He nearly gifted Everton a chance with a sloppy moment in possession during the second half but escaped punishment. Powerless to stop O’Brien’s late header.
The fullback showed his usual defensive grit and tried to push forward when opportunities arose. He wasn’t tested too heavily but didn’t stand out either.
Todibo had a golden chance to break the deadlock in the first half but couldn’t convert. Defensively, he was composed and played a key role in nearly securing a clean sheet, until the dying moments.
Kilman handled Everton’s physicality well, standing tall against their aerial threats. A reliable presence at the back, though he’ll rue the lapse that led to the equalizer.
A heart-in-mouth moment came when he appeared to concede a penalty, only for VAR to overturn it. He recovered well and defended stoutly, though he might have positioned better for Everton’s goal.
The Brazilian was busy down the left, holding his own against Everton’s first-half pressure. He remained a consistent outlet as the game wore on.
His set-piece delivery caused problems, nearly leading to a goal, but his influence in open play was limited. A steady, if uninspiring, shift in midfield.
Almost invisible until the 67th minute, Souček exploded into life with a stunning finish to give West Ham the lead. A classic case of making the most of one big moment.
Anonymous before halftime, Paquetá worked harder after the break but couldn’t spark his usual magic going forward. A rare off-day for the Brazilian.

West Ham’s standout star. Bowen’s direct running and a clever assist for Souček lit up the game. He tested Everton’s defense with dangerous efforts and was a constant menace.
Another disappointing outing for Kudus. He was ineffective in attack during a dire first half and, despite a slight uptick after the interval, wasted possession too often. His effort defensively was there, but he’s capable of so much more.
West Ham will feel this was two points dropped. Bowen and Souček’s second-half brilliance offered hope, but Kudus’ struggles and a late defensive slip cost them dearly. Graham Potter’s men showed fight, but consistency remains elusive.
