The 30-year-old attacker is in France just now putting the final details together on his £10 million move to Stade Rennais. The Ligue 1 club have proved too tempting for the former Vissel Kobe star and it looks like this will be his next home.
It’s been a great few years we’ve had out of Kyogo and he’s certainly etched his name into Celtic folklore. 85 goals for the club in all competitions and whilst it’s unfortunate he won’t be here to hit a century of them for the Bhoys, it’s safe to say the ones he has scored have always had significant importance for the club in big moments.

The Japanese international will always be remembered as a “big game player” in these parts and it’s no wonder when you survey his record. Goals against theRangers continually and ones in big games like cup finals and then on the European stage. He truly has been a tough of class and has earned the best since Larsson label amongst lots of the support.
Hartson himself was full of praise for his services to the club and thanked him sincerely online, saying:
“ Kyogo will be remembered as a brilliant striker for Celtic.. scored goals at every level.. from the club’s point of view we must bring in a striker that’s capable of banging goals in week in week out.. forwards win you games.. have enjoyed watching Kyogo.. wish him well.”
Classy message from one legend to another.
