La Liga pair eyeing summer deal for Barcelona star | OneFootball

A pair of La Liga clubs are expressing an interest in the signature of a member of the goalkeeper ranks at Barcelona.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Iñaki Peña as the player in question.

Peña, for his part, is of course in the midst of what has proven an altogether challenging recent stretch in Catalunya’s capital.

Afforded the starting gloves between the posts by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Spaniard has since found himself usurped by Wojciech Szczęsny.

As much has given rise to frustration on Peña’s part, culminating in speculation that the shot-stopper could look for a way out in the summer.

And, should this prove to be the case, Peña will not be short on suitors.

As per a report from the aforementioned Sport, Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray have been joined in the hunt for Peña’s services by a pair of Spanish clubs.

Amid respective searches for new options between the posts for next season, both Real Betis and Celta Vigo are understood to have earmarked the Barcelona man as a leading target.
