Sunderland are reportedly closing in on a final agreement with Roma for the transfer of summer signing Enzo Le Fee, which will include an important clause if the Black Cats are promoted to the Premier League at the end of the 2024-25 season.
According to reports from Calcioermato.it editor Eleonora Trotta, Sunderland are now closing the deal with Roma to bring Enzo Le Fee to the Stadium of Light.

The Frenchman looks set to sign on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent if Sunderland are promoted to the top flight by the end of the season. Sunderland are currently fourth place in the Championship table, three points off the top of the league and comfortably clear of Middlesbrough, one position and nine points below them.
Should a deal with Sunderland go through, Le Fee will be reunited with his former coach Regis le Bris, who coached him for a season at Lorient in 2022-23.
Le Fee joined Roma for a sum of €23m during the summer transfer window, but has failed to nail down a place in the Giallorossi starting line-up in a chaotic season that has already seen both Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric sacked from their positions as head coach.

Claudio Ranieri is currently in charge at the Stadio Olimpico and will step into a directorship role at the end of the 2024-25 season. He, too, has not given Le Fee a consistent run of games in the first team and he is now heading for the exit door just seven months into his Roma career.
