The 2024-25 League Cup semi-final draw has been conducted with Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all vying for a place in the final.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle were victorious against Crystal Palace, Southampton and Brentford in Wednesday’s quarter-final fixtures.
Tottenham did just about enough to come out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Manchester United on Thursday.
Arsenal will face off against Newcastle in the last four, while Tottenham will have to navigate the challenge of current holders Liverpool.
The League Cup is the first major piece of silverware available in the English football calendar, and all four teams will have their sights set on a trip to Wembley Stadium at the end of February.
Newcastle were beaten finalists against Manchester United two years ago and have a shot at redemption.
Tottenham are also looking to go one better, having lost out to Manchester City in the 2021 final.
Liverpool are aiming to hand Arne Slot his first trophy as manager since taking over from Jurgen Klopp.
Arsenal have traditionally struggled in the League Cup but now have the opportunity to go all the way in this competition for the first time in over three decades.
The semi-finals will be contested over two legs. The first leg is scheduled for the week beginning January 6, while the reverse fixtures take place in the week beginning February 3.
