Leicester look to complete January transfers with striker keen

Leicester City fans were treated to an early Christmas present from Father Ruud van Nistelrooy this week. In all seriousness, the latest Foxes manager conducted his first LCFC press conference the other day. And something potentially positive emerged from the media meeting. You see, van Nistelrooy was asked about possible January transfers. According to the one-time Manchester United striker and interim boss, City are in the market.

The east Midlands side will apparently be on the look out to complete the signing of another attacker. Specifically, the King Power club could buy or loan a centre forward. Furthermore, and notably, an up-and-coming Premier League goalscorer is said to have been monitored by City. In addition to that rumour, speculation states that the player in question actually wants to sign for Leicester. So, who is this mystery footballer? Is he worth the Leicestershire team's attention? And, finally, is a deal likely?

Leicester City see off an underwhelming but still attacking West Ham United in Ruud van Nistelrooy's maiden match

Thankfully Leicester did manage to beat West Ham with a good scoreline and a few influential performances. However, the visiting Hammers should have scored many more times than the sole goal they managed to dispatch.

In fact, the east London outfit out-shot the Foxes more than three times over. West Ham had a massive 31 attempts at Mads Hermansen's goal. Fewer than 33 per cent of those shots were on target though.

Van Nistelrooy must impart this 'defensive structure' knowledge of his very quickly, because City would have been bettered by most of the other top flight teams. Though I suppose I should be congratulating LCFC: they completed the mission. Yet warning signs remain.

Leicester City transfer talk

I'd prefer to call this section 'Leicester City transfer news', but at this stage the information remains hearsay. Although the new gaffer did reveal that reinforcements shall be sought in the New Year. Nonetheless, managers never name the men they are tracking or interested in.

Brighton & Hove Albion's Evan Ferguson is the man connected with a feasible loan switch to Leicester. Albeit City must offload loanee Odsonne Edouard before completing another temporary signing in 2024/25.

"Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy could be about to complete one of the deals of the transfer window as his Foxes sit perilously close to the relegation zone - with Brighton striker Evan Ferguson reportedly said to be 'keen' on a move to the east Midlands."- GIVEMESPORT

And, naturally, you can only have one loan between EPL clubs. Therefore Facundo Buonanotte would have to return to the Seagulls in order for Ferguson to join Leicester. And that is an unideal outcome. So my vote isn't currently with the Irishman but the Argentine.
