RB Leipzig started the match with intent, dominating the early exchanges. Amadou Haidara nearly gave the hosts an early lead, forcing a superb save from Jonas Urbig in the 2nd minute. Their efforts were rewarded in the 11th minute when Šeško produced a moment of magic. The Slovenian striker latched onto a pass from Xavi and, spotting Urbig off his line, audaciously chipped the ball into the net from 36 meters out. Xavi continued to pull the strings, nearly setting up Šeško again in the 8th minute. The hosts then doubled their lead in the 39th minute, as Lukas Klostermann headed home from David Raum's precise free-kick delivery from 10 yards out.

The second half saw a resurgent Bayern side emerge from the dressing room. Their comeback began in the 62nd minute when Eric Dier headed home from Michael Olise's corner. Just 46 seconds later, in a moment that stunned the home crowd, Olise himself found the net with a well-placed shot from just outside the area, assisted by Serge Gnabry. The introduction of Kingsley Coman for Thomas Müller in the 61st minute proved crucial, adding fresh impetus to Bayern's attack. The turnaround was complete in the 83rd minute as Sané rifled home what looked to be the title-clinching goal for Bayern from the edge of the area, assisted by Joshua Kimmich.

However, the drama was far from over. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, substitute Poulsen, who had replaced Šeško in the 69th minute, latched onto a pass from Xavi and chipped the ball over Urbig to level the scores. The late equaliser not only denied Bayern an immediate title celebration but also kept Leipzig's hopes of Champions League qualification alive in a pulsating encounter that highlighted the very best of Bundesliga football.
