Lionel Messi to be offered new contract by Inter Miami | OneFootball

As things stand, 2025 will be Lionel Messi’s final year as a professional footballer, although there are plenty of chances for him to also continue playing in 2026 as he is currently scheduled to be involved for Argentina during their defence of the World Cup.

Messi has not yet fully committed to remaining at Argentina until the 2026 World Cup, which will be held across North America. However, it is expected that he will do so, especially if he decides to extend his Inter Miami contract, which expires at the end of next year.

As per TyC Sports (via MD), Inter Miami are already planning to offer Messi a contract extension that would see him through to the end of the 2026 MLS season.

As things stand, Messi’s idea would be to sign that deal if it came his way. He is very comfortable in Miami, where he has been based since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023.
