Tottenham Hotspur are actively looking to bolster their squad, with a particular focus on the defensive department.
The club, which has faced injury woes in recent months, has reportedly shown interest in Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile.
With key players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven sidelined, Spurs required reinforcements to address their defensive issues.
Badiashile, who has struggled for consistent first-team opportunities at Chelsea, seemed like a potential solution for Tottenham’s concerns.
The 23-year-old French defender was reportedly on Spurs' radar, with the club keen to secure him on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, according to CaughtOffside, the deal has not materialised, with Chelsea unwilling to part ways with the player during the January transfer window.
The need for defensive reinforcements at Tottenham is becoming increasingly urgent. With Romero and van de Ven both suffering from injury setbacks, Spurs have been stretched thin in the centre-back position.
Tottenham were hopeful that Badiashile, who has had limited playing time at Stamford Bridge, could provide the depth they desperately require.
The French defender's lack of game time at Chelsea made him an attractive option for Spurs, as he could have been keen on securing more regular football.
Tottenham, currently languishing in 15th place in the Premier League, were hoping Badiashile could contribute to their revival.
After being expected to challenge for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification this season, their form has been far from ideal.
However, Chelsea’s reluctance to allow Badiashile to leave in this transfer window has meant that Tottenham’s pursuit has ended in disappointment.
The Blues are evidently holding on to the player, which leaves Spurs needing to turn their attention to other targets before the deadline.
While Badiashile may be frustrated with his limited role at Chelsea, his future remains uncertain.
Despite featuring in 10 matches this season (24/25), Badiashile has yet to make a significant impact and his playing time has been limited.
