West Ham are understood to be readying a loan agreement with Chelsea for Carney Chukwuemeka in January.
The England U20 playmaker, who can also operate on the left wing, was a reported target during the summer, however a move for the player did not materialise.
However, it’s been reported now that the club are ready to revisit the move and land the highly-rated 21-year old on an initial loan, with the view to make it permanent in the summer.
Chukwuemeka joined the west Londoners in 2022 from Aston Villa, with much anticipation, however he has struggled for game time and is keen to get a move so as to kickstart his career elsewhere.
A move to West Ham is understood to be appealing to the player, as he would remain in the capital, and would have far more opportunity considering the form of the Hammers at present, especially that of Lucas Paqueta, who could well see himself banned for a significant spell next year with the ongoing betting allegations.
The loan arrangement would also be very appealing to West Ham with the club eager to strengthen again in January, with a new striker top of the priority list.
Any financial outlays in the new year will be dependant on player sales, so the loan arrangement for Chukwuemeka would suit the club and understandably Chelsea also, who would then hope to sell in the summer.
