Bologna’s Charalampos Lykogiannis is confident ahead of the Coppa Italia final, talking about the moment ‘when’ they lift the trophy.
By quirk of the fixture list, Milan’s game against Bologna at San Siro in Serie A on Friday night was an appetiser for the main course which will come at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday. The Rossoneri were the ones celebrating three days ago, as they prevailed 3-1.
Riccardo Orsolini gave the Rossoblu the lead and they looked like coasting towards a big win in their top four pursuit. However, Santiago Gimenez was summoned off the bench and he proved to be the difference-maker, scoring a brace, and Christian Pulisic also netted in the comeback win.
Lykogiannis gave an interview to Sport 24 to talk about the Coppa Italia final with Milan and he certainly expressed confidence in view of the game, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.
“I live for the moment when I lift the Coppa Italia at the Olimpico. You’ll say to me: ‘You’re crazy!’. But I’m someone who sets goals and as soon as we beat Atalanta in the quarter-finals I told my psychologist: ‘I want to win the Coppa Italia’.
“So I printed two photos of the trophy: I put one in my room to look at every morning, the other is in my locker. Now I think we’re really in a good position. We have a great chance to win the Coppa Italia. We haven’t decided yet what we’ll do if we win, it’s still too early to think about it.”
