While it may not be a transfer rumor, there has been some major news regarding how MLS clubs will conduct transfer business going forward.
The league announced on Tuesday that effective immediately, an internal cash-based transfer market will be put into place in MLS.
This means teams can now buy players from fellow MLS clubs for cold hard cash, whereas they previously needed to jump through hoops such as allocation money, or trade players and international slots.
Clubs can now buy two players with cash per season, and sell two players for cash per season, marking a major change in business for the league.

Atlanta United are reportedly 'advancing on a deal' to sign Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath.
According to Sky Sports, an agreement is getting closer between the two clubs as Atlanta looks to bring in their new attacking centerpiece.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that Atlanta have already bid up to $20 million for the 26-year-old, which would be a new MLS record.
Latte Lath has scored 10 goals in 26 games for Middlesbrough this season.

The 25-year-old has made just one LaLiga appearance for Celta this season.
“We’re pleased to bring in attacker Tadeo Allende to further strengthen our attack. Tadeo’s versatility bolsters our options up front as he can perform in different positions across the pitch,” said President of Football Operations Raúl Sanllehí.

The Portland Timbers have long been linked to forward Kevin Kelsy this winter, but according to Tom Bogert, the Cascadia club have all but wrapped up a deal for the former FC Cincinnati man now.
The Timbers will reportedly dole out 'just under' $6 million for the 20-year-old, who scored 6 goals in 25 MLS matches with Cincinnati last season.
Kelsy would add to Phil Neville's forward options after they scored the second-most goals in the Western Conference in 2024.

Italian football insider Alfredo Pedullà has revealed that Fiorentina is 'open to selling' the 26-year-old, while Ikonè is considering whether to accept or reject the offer.
The Frenchman has not registered a goal or an assist for Fiorentina in 14 Serie A games this season.

The 23-year-old was a standout for the MLS side in 2024, scoring 16 goals registering 8 assists in 36 MLS appearances.
LAFC have signed both Olivier Giroud and Jeremy Ebobisse to their attacking core in the last two transfer windows, giving Bogusz more competition for playing time down the line.
According to Ekrem Konur, Celtic and Cruz Azul are also 'monitoring the situation' of the LAFC man.
