Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, who is also a target for Real Madrid, claims a report from Fichajes.
It must be noted that the French defender remains under contract with the Serie A giants, but his current situation at San Siro is far from ideal, increasing the likelihood of a transfer in the summer.
Milan are dealing with challenges both on and off the pitch, which has created uncertainty around several players, including the experienced left-back.
Despite being a crucial figure in their defensive setup, the club might have no choice but to let him go, especially as his contract situation remains unresolved.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid, who had initially prioritised Alphonso Davies for the left-back role, have now shifted their attention to Hernandez as a serious alternative.

The Italian club appear to be open to selling him rather than risking losing him for free in the near future. His wage demands have complicated any potential contract extension, making a summer exit the most likely outcome.
In fact, Milan had already attempted to offload him in January, offering him to Como for €40 million. However, Hernandez turned down the move, preferring to join a club competing at a higher level.
On the other hand, Manchester City see an opportunity to secure the talented full-back at a reasonable price. Pep Guardiola values Hernandez’s ability to contribute both defensively and offensively, making him an ideal addition to City’s squad.
Given the player’s desire for a fresh challenge and Milan’s current instability, a transfer fee in the region of €35 million could be enough to finalise a deal.
With both Real Madrid and Manchester City keen on signing him, the battle for Hernandez’s signature is expected to intensify as the summer window approaches. His next move will likely depend on which club can present the most convincing project and financial package.
