Man United and Leicester City have shown an interest in signing teenager Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews. They report that the two Premier League clubs have joined the race for the 19-year-old.
At the moment, striker Pio Esposito is starring on loan at Spezia.
This is the teenager’s second season on loan in Liguria. And it has seen him take a big leap forward in quality and goalscoring.
Therefore, there is a strong sense that Esposito won’t be in Serie B for much longer.
Pio Esposito’s form has attracted plenty of interest from Serie A.
Already during the summer, Torino had pushed to sign the teenager. However, he decided to prioritize continuing his growth in a familiar environment in Spezia.
That decision to stay in Serie B looks to be the correct one considering the season Esposito is having.
However, top flight football certainly beckons for Pio Esposito now.
Reportedly, Inter’s plan is to loan the 19-year-ould out to a club in Serie A next summer. They want to see him take the next step, but don’t want to lose control of his future.
However, there is interest emerging from the Premier League as well.
SportItalia report that both Manchester United and Leicester City would like to bring Pio Esposito to the English top flight.
