Man United and Tottenham Hotspur are both eyeing up Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi as a potential target on the bench.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the two struggling giants of English football both want to bring the 48-year-old to the Premier League.

Simone Inzaghi is now in his fourth season as Inter Milan coach.

The former Lazio boss has certainly won many admirers for his work at the San Siro.

Inter Milan won the Serie A title last season. They have also won five other pieces of domestic silverware since Inzaghi’s arrival in 2021.

Moreover, Inter Milan stirred the imagination of many well beyond Italy’s borders with their run to the Champions League final in the 2022-23 season/

And this season has been more of the same. At the moment, Inter sit top of the Serie A table.

And the Nerazzurri have one foot in the Champions League quarterfinals. They face Feyenoord in the second leg of a round of sixteen tie tomorrow, taking a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

Once again, it is Inter’s European exploits that are really catching the eye of teams around the continent. They have conceded just one goal in the competition so far this campaign.

Inevitably, Inzaghi’s work at Inter Milan has raised interest in him from teams outside of Serie A.

And according to Tuttosport, there are two teams in England in particular who are keen on the 48-year-old.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both looking to pull themselves out of dire current situations.

Both clubs currently find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Far from their ambitions to compete in the Champions League on a regular basis.

Therefore, the jobs of Red Devils coach Ruben Amorim and Lillywhites boss Ange Postecoglou are both at risk this summer.

And according to Tuttosport, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi would be a dream target for both English clubs.

Naturally, prising Inzaghi away from Inter won’t be easy. So far, the former Lazio coach has stayed loyal to the Nerazzurri project despite intermittent interest from other big clubs.

However, that doesn’t mean that an attempt couldn’t be made.

As things stand, Inzaghi’s contract runs out at the end of next summer. However, the Nerazzurri will certainly aim to stave off interest in their coach with a new deal as soon as possible.
