Rúben Amorim’s decision to leave Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad for the recent derby against Manchester City has fueled speculation about Rashford’s future at the club.

According to Ben Jacobs of GIVE ME SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain has not made any recent moves for Rashford, though their sports advisor, Luis Campos, is keeping a close eye on the situation.

While PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi previously held discussions with Rashford’s representatives, he is unlikely to pursue further talks unless the player shows clear interest. This measured approach comes after Rashford signed a five-year contract extension with United in July 2023.

Jacobs also highlighted Rashford’s openness to a potential move to LaLiga, with Barcelona reportedly seeing him as a strong fit. However, financial constraints make such a transfer highly unlikely unless Manchester United agrees to a loan deal and takes on a significant portion of his wages.

In his exclusive Christmas column for CaughtOffside, former Aston Villa forward Stan Collymore shared his thoughts on why Rashford should consider leaving Manchester United.

“Marcus Rashford should leave Manchester United,” Collymore wrote. “I’ve been saying it for probably a couple of years now, and he should either go abroad or to a progressive Premier League club… I think there will be takers for Rashford whether that be from Germany or Italy, but I’m not so sure about Spain.

“He just needs to enjoy the game and love the game again, and I wonder if for the past five or six years whether he actually ever has. He always looks as if he’s carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. For me, it’s really simple. Either go to a wild card in terms of a Bournemouth, or head abroad to somewhere like Napoli or AC Milan.”

FootballTransfers reported this past weekend that Barcelona have reached out to Manchester United about a potential January loan move for Rashford. The Spanish giants offered a fee of £35 million (€42 million), but Manchester United has yet to respond.
