Manchester United left back target Miguel Gutierrez has reportedly asked to leave Girona.
The Red Devils have made signing a new left sided full back a priority due to Luke Shaw’s injury woes.
Ruben Amorim’s team have been linked to numerous options such as Milos Kerkez and Rayan Ait-Nouri in the Premier League.
One option that seems to be fading is that of Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who looks increasingly likely to stay at the German club.
One player who has been linked to United for a few months is that of Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez and it seems United have been handed a significant boost in the pursuit of the player.
TEAMtalk report that they “can reveal that Miguel Gutierrez is a concrete target for Ruben Amorim.”
The Spanish international’s profile has “emerged strongly and concretely” in recent days as United look to bolster their options at full back.
Interestingly, the website provides a huge update in that the 23 year old wants to leave the Spanish club in the not-so-distant future.
“Gutierrez – despite a contract until 2027 – has asked to be sold by his current club” and Amorim has already given the OK to any potential move.
The Red Devils are facing numerous PSR financial restrictions at the moment, so will be attracted to Gutierrez’s rather modest release clause of £28.8m.
In fact, it is even suggested that United may aim to negotiate the release clause owing to the Spaniard’s desire to leave.
Unfortunately for the English club, Real Madrid hold the rights to 50% of any future resale, which decreases United’s wiggle room to negotiate a lower fee.
The Olympic gold medallist has continued his fine form this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 22 matches for Girona.
