Ruben Amorim era continues against Norwegian side

Ruben Amorim is set to take charge of Manchester United for the first time at Old Trafford when Bodo/Glimt come to town in the Europa League.

The Portuguese began life at the club with an underwhelming 1-1 draw against Ipswich, albeit judgement should be reserved now given how little time Amorim has had in charge of the team.

Still, the 39-year-old will no doubt be looking for improvements. He admitted his side looked “confused” at times at Portman Road, while Roy Keane issued a rather scathing assessment.

United finally claimed their first victory in this competition last time out by beating PAOK 2-0 under the interim management of Ruud van Nistelrooy.

It has raised hope of automatic qualification for the knockout rounds, albeit they can ill-afford many more slip-ups after taking only three points from their opening three games.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Man Utd vs Bodo/Glimt is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off time on Thursday 28 November 2024.

Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt team news

United seem set to continue in Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 system, though perhaps the personnel will change from Sunday’s draw.

Luke Shaw made his first appearance of the season off the bench, while Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are also pushing to start in central midfield.

Amorim will provide updates on the injured Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at Wednesday's pre-match press conference.

Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt prediction

The Norwegian side are above United in the Europa League table so should be treated with respect but anything other than a win would be little short of a disaster in Amorim’s first home game.

The two teams have never played.
