Manchester United will again be without Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro with the defensive quartet all remaining sidelined. Malacia and Lindelof have returned to training this week but are not in contention to face Twente, while Ten Hag confirmed that he expects Shaw to be back before October’s international break.

“I think it’s probably [before the break] but I can’t say I’m 100 per cent sure,” Ten Hag said during his pre-match press conference.

“The plan is just to be back before but as I say I can’t say this 100 per cent for sure. It could also be shortly after the break.”

Manuel Ugarte could be handed a start in midfield as the Uruguayan is eased into action, while there could be recalls for Harry Maguire and Casemiro. Further forward, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojliund will hope for some involvement as the duo step up their recoveries from injury.
