Olympique de Marseille are set to celebrate their 125-year history with a legends match on Friday 2nd May 2025 which will feature Olympien players from different era’s of OM’s star-studded history. The likes of Robert Pires, Didier Drogba, and Samir Nasri have already been announced as players returning to the Vélodrome.From 1972 double-winning heroes to figures from the early ’90s, the centenary squad, the 2010 league champions, and iconic players from OM’s memorable European campaigns in 2004 and 2018. Marseille fans will be able to vote online for the starting XI of each legends team. Over 100 former players are set to be involved. The match at the Vélodrome is set to take place just before the end of the current Ligue 1 season, with Roberto De Zerbi’s squad facing a trip to Lille that weekend. Marseille currently sit third in the Ligue 1 table, in one of the tightest races for Europe that the league has seen. Les Olympiens face bottom side Montpellier this weekend at the Vélodrome (21:00 CET).GFFN | George Boxall
