Spurs seem to have got somewhat back on the right track over the last week or so, ensuring their automatic qualification to the UEFA Europa League round of sixteen, finally getting a win in the Premier League over Brentford, and doing some really good business as the transfer window closed, being able to secure the signatures of Kevin Danso and the loan deal for Mathys Tel.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will be hoping the squad can keep their momentum going when they face the tough task of heading to Anfield on Thursday for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final where they face Premier League table-toppers Liverpool.

Spurs are a goal to the good going into this fixture courtesy of a Lucas Bergvall winner late on in the game in what is a huge opportunity for Spurs to reach a cup final, aiming for a first piece of silverware since 2008, when they won the same competition.

The squad is still very depleted, with the likes of Dominic Solanke still on the sidelines.

He assisted Bergvall's winner in the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and his presence will be a big miss up top.

Radu Dragusin had also sustained an injury in the game against Elfsborg, and he himself has confirmed on his personal Instagram account that he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

It is unclear exactly how long the Romanian international will be out for, but he's definitely not going to be anytime soon. Micky van de Ven is back fit after being rested against Brentford just to manage his minutes while he has just came back, says Postecoglou.

However Argentine Cristian Romero hasn't recovered yet, albeit back in light training, so it means it could be a first start for Danso.

Liverpool away in a cup semi-final would be some way to make your debut, and one where the Austrian will be hoping he can make a good first impression to the Spurs fans.

Young frenchman Tel could also step onto the pitch for the first time as a Spurs player. The new signings will wear the numbers 4 and 11 respectively.

Liverpool will be coming out all guns blazing like they usually do in front of their home crowd, and an early goal could give them all the momentum possible to go and win the tie.

Spurs however, will not sit back. Everyone knows how Postecoglou likes to approach games by now and he'll be making sure that the team try and add to that lead rather than just holding onto what they have already got.

Spurs are proving to be a very good side in the cups this year, on any given day they can beat anybody and that's what knockout football is all about.

This is a massive chance to give the Spurs faithful some long awaited glory and the travelling fans will be hoping the long journey to the North West will be worth it on Thursday night.
