Matheus Cunha has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association after the Wolves star was involved in a fracas against Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys beat Wanderers 2-1 at Molineux after Jack Taylor scored with the final attack of the game to deal their relegation rivals a major blow in the battle for Premier League survival.
There were ugly scenes after the game as players clashed at the full-time whistle. Rayan Ait-Nouri was shown a second yellow card and had to be dragged down the tunnel by teammate Craig Dawson.
Cunha was involved in an altercation with a member of Ipswich‘s staff on the pitch during which he grabbed a pair of glasses off their face.
The FA have subsequently charged the forward for acting “in an improper manner” and he has until Thursday, 19 December to respond to the charge.
Cunha has been a key player for Wolves this season, registering eight goals and three assists in 16 appearances. He has started all but one game for the club this term, starting their league opener against Arsenal on the bench.
Wolves, who are second from bottom having won just twice this season, face a massive trip to Leicester City this weekend. The Foxes are hovering just above the relegation zone with 14 points from 16 games.
Gary O’Neil was sacked as head coach the day after the defeat to Ipswich with the club five points adrift of safety. Wolves are expected to replace him with Vitor Pereira.
