Milan defender Malick Thiaw didn’t train with his teammates on Monday, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic met Paulo Fonseca during a training session at Milanello.
Serie A giants Milan prepare for the opening Champions League game of the season against Liverpool.
The Rossoneri are training at Milanello this morning, and as reported by Milannews, German defender Thiaw was not seen on the pitch as he’s still dealing with ankle issues.
The former Schalke 04 defender won’t be eligible against the Reds on Tuesday, and the same goes for Marco Sportiello, Ismael Bennacer, Alessandro Florenzi and Luka Jovic. The latter has not been included in Milan’s UEFA list for the league phase.
During the training session, RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic sat down with coach Fonseca and sports director Geoffrey Moncada.
Ibrahimovic was not in the stands for Saturday’s 4-0 win over Venezia but is expected to attend the Champions League game against Liverpool tomorrow.
According to Gazzetta, Fonseca is expected to start Alvaro Morata in the attack against the Reds.
The Spaniard and the Rossoneri coach will hold a pre-match press conference at 14:15 CET today.
