Following the sacking of Marco Rose as RB Leipzig coach, Zsolt Löw has been appointed interim coach for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign. But who will be in charge next season?

Former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, who took over as RB Leipzig's head of global soccer in January, has been linked with the job.

However, RB Leipzig supervisory board member Oliver Mintzlaff has now made it clear that there is no thought of appointing Klopp to the role.

"I would do it myself before that would happen, and nobody wants to see that. That's why I can rule it out a thousand percent," Mintzlaff said in an interview with Sky Germany.

“A huge thank you to Zsolt [Löw] for saying: 'Yes, I'll take on the responsibility here' - even if he had a different plan.”

“For now, the expectation is that he will give us a new impetus - and I'm sure he will do that - so that we get a different energy on the pitch.”
