MLS Injury Report Roundup: Quakes' Josef Martinez cleared to face Messi

San Jose Earthquakes striker Josef Martinez has been removed from the MLS Player Status Report for Matchday 13, meaning he should be available for Wednesday night's high-profile clash against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami.
Martinez has six goals so far during his first season for San Jose and manager Bruce Arena. His last came in the first half of a 2-1 defeat at the Columbus Crew two weeks ago.
But Martinez left that game at halftime and was held out of the Quakes' next two clashes, wins over the Portland Timbers and Colorado Rapids. Cristian Arango scored in each game to vault into sole possession of the team scoring lead with eight goals, and into a four-way tie atop the MLS goals leaderboard.
Martinez recently sat down with the Vinotinto podcast to discuss his time as Messi's teammate during the summer and fall of 2023. But that brief patch wasn't very fruitful for Martinez, who scored only three times in all competitions after Messi's arrival, and only once while the pair shared the field.

Messi played all 90 minutes of Miami's 4-1 defeat at Minnesota United on Saturday, but Luis Suarez was absent due to personal reasons, reportedly to attend a family wedding.
Suarez was not listed on league availability reports for either Matchday 12 or 13. It's unclear whether he will rejoin the club in time to be ready to suit up for the Herons, who have now lost four of their last five in all competitions, including both legs of their Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Winger Luca Orellano (leg) and center back Matt Miazga (leg) are both questionable for FC Cincinnati's trip to face Toronto FC.
Miazga departed just before halftime of Cincy's 2-1 victory over Austin FC on Saturday, while Orellano left in the 82nd minute.
Cincinnati enters Wednesday's trip to Canada atop the Eastern Conference standings after winning six of their last seven in league play.
