Last season, AC Milan were defined by the injury problems they faced and the issues eventually led to their season being heavily derailed. Unfortunately, it seems the problem may be restarting.
Injuries have been semi-regular recently but by no means as bad as they were for large parts of last season. However, there are now fears about the injury issues heading back towards the direction of last season.
As Milan News reports, on Friday, Milan will travel to Verona for Serie A action, but they will do so without six, and probably even seven players, after the news of Yunus Musah’s injury.
Last season, it was an issue in defence, but now there is a hole in the midfield with three Trequartistas absent and this is without the presence of a natural No.10 too – another issue in itself. For this reason, Paulo Fonseca has been forced to look towards the youth roster, which sounds all too familiar.
This is without even considering the fact that the Rossoneri are without Luka Jovic – though it can be debated whether he can truly be considered as an absence, Ismael Bennacer, Alessandro Florenzi and Noah Okafor.
Five of those names are ‘repeat offenders’ and their issues this season were also seen last season, so their presence cannot be relied on, which creates further holes within the side.
