AC Milan travel to Cagliari this weekend, but they will do so without Alvaro Morata, which will leave Paulo Fonseca with a difficult decision to make.
Reports from earlier today had suggested that Fonseca was considering giving Morata a chance to rest this weekend ahead of the international break, but he will not be given the luxury of making that decision.
Instead, the decision was made for him during training at Milanello. After clashing with Strahinja Pavlovic, the Spaniard was rushed to hospital after suffering a ‘severe head injury’. As a result, he will not feature this weekend.
There is no knowledge about the extent of the injury currently, but the striker is being monitored regularly.
With this, Fonseca now must make a decision about who will lead the line, and three players are in contention, as per reports from Milan News. The obvious and leading option is Tammy Abraham, who played 20 minutes against Real Madrid, but it depends on whether he is fit enough to play the majority of the game.
Elsewhere there is Luka Jovic or possibly even Francesco Camarda. Given Fonseca has already stated that the Serbian is not too involved in his plans, perhaps, it could be the time to give Camarda his first start. However, it is a decision that the Rossoneri would probably look to avoid at least for now.
