Mohamed Salah took a softer approach to a question about his Liverpool future as the Reds prepare to face Manchester City on Sunday.

After these two sides last met in December, Salah claimed he was particularly motivated for the game because he felt like it would be his final meeting with City at Anfield. His contract has entered its final five months and there has been no public signs of an extension.

Given the chance to double down on that stance ahead of Sunday's game, Salah instead admitted it may not be his final match against City after all.

Premier League Productions asked Salah: "Sunday may be your last game against Man City, is it a bit more special for you for that?"

"To be fair, I don't know," Salah responded. "I just feel like my whole focus now is to win the Premier League. It doesn't matter if it's the last game or not the last game, we will see."

The change in tone is significant from Salah who, towards the end of 2024, took plenty of public shots at Liverpool over the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future. He even claimed he felt "more out than in" because of the lack of progress.

It emerged shortly after that bombshell that Salah had received an opening offer to extend his contract, but progress has once again slowed, leaving Liverpool fans concerned they may be forced to bid farewell to their talismanic forward.
