Morgan Cross: We're delighted with the victory over Hearts | OneFootball

Across Elena Sadiku’s squad, the Celtic Head Coach has an abundance of players who offer versatility in different areas of the pitch.

One of those is Morgan Cross, and during Sunday evening’s 4-0 win over Hearts, the forward found herself playing in another new area of the pitch, as a right wing-back in the Celtic side.

And it proved to be a positive evening for Cross and her team-mates, with the Scotland Under-23 internationalist grabbing a goal and an assist.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, the summer signing said: “We're delighted with the three points. I think we have been due a result like that recently, so we're really pleased to get it.

“I think in the first half, we worked really hard and put in a really good shift as a team. The second half was maybe a bit more 50/50.

“We really wanted to respond positively after last week’s result and we were happy to do that.”

Scoting her fifth goal of the campaign, Cross has proved to be a shrewd addition to the squad, popping up with goals from positions across the frontline.

With another goal and assist on Sunday, the forward is simply pleased to play her part in any way she can.

And with another important match coming up this Wednesday against Queen’s Park, Cross insists the squad are focused on continuing to climb the table.

“I’m happy to contribute if I can,” she explained. “On Sunday it was a bit of a new position for me but I enjoyed it, and I managed to get on the scoresheet, so I’m not complaining!

“That’s the aim, we want to keep climbing the table. It’s important to keep getting three points on the board, and hopefully we can get another good result against Queen’s Park.”
