Lazio playmaker Nicolo Rovella pledges his future to the club, insisting his time at Juventus is a closed chapter.

The 23-year-old is technically still on the Bianconeri’s books, but the Italian capital side has an obligation to buy him at the end of the season for circa €17 million. Obviously, this is a stipulation that the Biancocelesti will gladly fulfill, as the Italian midfielder has now cemented himself as one of the finest players in his role in Serie A.

Nicolo Rovella Only Wants Lazio

And luckily for Lazio, the player himself is more than happy to remain at Formello. Following the club’s 3-0 victory over Bologna, Rovella reiterated his attachment to the cause, reassuring that Juventus is now in the rearview mirror.

I only think about Lazio now, and I don’t talk about Juventus, it’s not in my thoughts. I’m a Lazio player and I hope to stay here for many years, or rather forever. I thank the fans, it’s nice to celebrate with them, they always help us during the game. It’s only right that we celebrate with them at the end of the match.

Marco Baroni’s Major Role

Rovella also highlighted Marco Baroni’s importance to the cause as the Aquile extended their purple patch to seven wins in a row.

The coach is doing an excellent job, he helps us a lot. He has brought cohesion in the dressing room. We have to continue on the same path and maintain this excitment that we’re sharing with the fans.

Teasing Matteo Guendouzi

Rovella has forged an excellent understanding with his Lazio teammate Matteo Guendouzi, but there were no holds barred when the duo clashed heads in the recent encounter between Italy and France at San Siro.

Guendouzi and I have a great understanding on the pitch. We are friends as well as teammates. Even in training we tease each other as you saw in Italy-France. In that match, he dived! You all saw it. Joking aside, it is easy to play with such a strong player, the same with [Matias] Vecino and [Fisayo] Dele-Bashiru.

Where to Improve

Finally, the Italian insisted he hasn’t even reached 50% of his potential, revealing where he can still improve.

I hope you have seen only little of my potential. I am trying to improve the offensive phase by adding more goals and assists. I hope to improve a lot more, I am not even at 50%. I want to give everthing for this shirt.
