AC Milan resume their Serie A campaign in Sunday’s early kick-off, welcoming Parma to San Siro hoping to avenge defeat in the reverse fixture.
With Juventus having lost last night and with Lazio playing Fiorentina later on (plus Bologna drawing with Empoli), the door has opened again for Milan to gain ground in the top four race.
However, they have previously failed to take advantage of this situation multiple times this season already, so Sergio Conceicao will be looking for the right signs after the Girona win in midweek.
In terms of injury news, Milan will be without Emerson Royal – who should miss 8-12 weeks – plus Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Malick Thiaw and Alessando Florenzi. Noah Okafor, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze boost the forward options though.
There are two changes from the XI that beat Girona in the Champions League and one comes on the right side of the attack, where Pulisic gets the nod. He will have Alvaro Morata and Rafael Leao to his left.
The midfield trio will be Youssouf Fofana, Yunus Musah and Tijjani Reijnders, with the American replacing Ismael Bennacer. The Frenchman must be careful though: he is one booking away from a one-game Serie A suspension, and the next league game is the derby.
Mike Maignan will have a back four of Davide Calabria, Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of him, the rearguard that basically kept a clean sheet on Wednesday given that Emerson was forced off.
Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Musah; Pulisic, Reijnders, Leao; Morata.
Bench: Sportiello, Bennacer, Jovic, Okafor, Zeroli, Jimenez, Chukwueze, Tomori, Bartesaghi, Terracciano, Camarda, Abraham.
Official Parma XI (4-2-3-1): Suzuki; Delprato, Vogliacco, Valenti, Valeri, Hernani, Sohm, Man, Cancellieri, Mihaila, Djuric.
Bench: Corvi, Moretta, Estevez, Almqvist, Keita, Ondrejka, Lovik, Hainaut, Camara, Leoni, Haj, Trabucchi, Plicco.
