On 3 July 2023 it was announced that Newcastle United had signed Sandro Tonali.

The Italy international arriving from AC Milan.

A transfer that shocked the entire football community in Italy, who aren’t used to losing their top homegrown players from Serie A at such a young age, Sandro Tonali having turned 23 just two months earlier.

The £55m signing was a stunning scoop for Eddie Howe.

However, after a relative handful of matches in black and white, Sandro Tonali was handed a ten month ban due to gambling on football matches whilst playing for AC Milan.

Tonali returned to playing in August 2024 and has been in stunning form ever since.

Now 22 months on, the club have released this excellent behind the scenes video insight into Sandro Tonali.
