French midfielder Han-Noah Massengo (23) has been loaned back to Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre, both clubs have confirmed. The 23-year-old midfielder is returning to Christophe Pelissier’s side after spending the first months of 2023 on loan at Auxerre. Massengo featured 15 times for Auxerre at the time. The AS Monaco Academy graduate made his Ligue 1 and Champions League in 2018, becoming, at just 17 years and 3 months, the youngest Frenchman to feature in Europe’s premier competition.
Massengo’s loan to Auxerre includes an option to make the move permanent. The midfielder remains tied with Burnley FC over a contract set to expire in 2027. Massengo will wear the #80 jersey with Auxerre. Massengo could make his Ligue 1 return this Friday as the Yonne side hosts Lille OSC. “The club would like to wish Han-Noah a successful spell over in France”, Burnley add in their statement.
