Lille OSC forward Mohamed Bayo (26) has joined Royal Antwerp FC on loan until the end of the season, it has been confirmed.

Bayo has found gametime extremely different to come by this season. He has been pigeonholed as the No.2 option at Lille. He is behind the immovable Jonathan David in the pecking order. Lille recently confirmed the signing of Chuba Akpom, creating further competition in the forward line. The Canadian looks very likely to leave Les Dogues in the summer on a free transfer with his current deal expiring, however, Bayo has departed first.

He had been linked with a move to Ipswich Town in the Premier League, however, he has instead joined Belgian side Antwerp. He joins them on loan until the end of the season and there is no purchase clause inserted into the deal, meaning that he will return to the Ligue 1 side in the summer.
