Olympique de Marseille have confirmed that Adrien Rabiot (29) has signed for the club on a free transfer. The France international will spend the next two years in La Provence at the southern club.
Rabiot had become a free agent after leaving Juventus at the end of his contract. The midfielder was the subject of widespread transfer interest with clubs across Europe and the Middle East all interested in securing the signature of the midfielder.
It was reported that Rabiot’s preference had been to join a Premier League side with Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal all linked, however, the midfielder found those clubs all turning to other options.
There was interest from Italy recently for the former Paris Saint-Germain star, with AC Milan offering a lucrative contract for the 2018 World Cup winner. However, Rabiot was unconvinced, instead, he would reduce his demands and return to Ligue 1 by arriving at Marseille.
