When Palace face Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley, it will be only the third FA Cup final the Eagles have contested.

On both previous occasions, in 1990 and 2016, they were beaten in the final by Manchester United.

If they beat Pep Guardiola’s side, they will seal Palace’s first-ever piece of major silverware.

A number of Palace players, as well as manager Glasner, are being courted by European heavyweights ahead of the summer.

Many expect the Eagles to cash in on Guehi this summer, with the England international only contracted until 2026, when he would be able to leave on a free transfer and the club would recoup no fee.

Glasner, meanwhile, is of interest to RB Leipzig among other clubs, but with Palace trying to tie him down to a new deal.

“My only focus is this game,” Guehi said, when asked on Friday afternoon whether he expects to still be a Palace player next season.

“My only focus is the fact that I am under contract at Palace. So as far as I am concerned, I am a Palace player.”

Glasner, also contracted to 2026, said of his own future: “It’s the same with Marc, and saying Marc’s contract ends next year and what I expect from the players I expect from myself. I didn’t think about my personal future.

“It’s the wrong time to think about your personal future. It’s the same reason I didn’t talk to any single player because it’s not the time to talk about it. And if you start to talk about it you get distracted and this is what we can’t allow.

“We can’t allow distractions, because we need 100 per cent focus, 100 per cent energy, 100 per cent togetherness to win this title otherwise it’s not possible. No player came to me and even wanted to speak about his personal future and I never talk about my personal future because it’s not the right time.

“Let’s play this game [the FA Cup final] and we have two more games in the league and then I will switch off my phone.”

Glasner’s eventful 15 months in charge have seen the likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton emerge as vital players, attracting transfer interest from large clubs.

Asked whether the cup final could be the end of an era for Palace, with possible summer departures to come, he said: “It definitely won’t be the end because we play on Tuesday against Wolves and then we go to Liverpool! So two more games in one week could be demanding, especially if hopefully after huge celebrations on Saturday.”

On whether it is inevitable that cup final success would mean losing players, Glasner replied: “It could be. It happened last year with one or two and could be again. I really trust the chairman and the owners. I’m pretty sure we won’t sell eight or nine players and start two levels lower. I’m convinced every player sees the development of the club and the team and everybody wants to be part of the development and then let’s see.

“The transfer window will open again, a few transfers will be executed, but everyone who is here has a contract and let’s see what is going [to happen].”
