What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?

Just over three weeks of the season still left to go.

In 23 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.

An intense period of games kicking off May for the five teams competing to get those final three Champions League spots.

Man City v Wolves tonight, then on Saturday Villa v Fulham, before Brighton v Newcastle and Chelsea v Liverpool on Sunday, then Palace v Forest on Monday night finishing off this flurry of key matches for the Champions League hopefuls.

Kicking things off though was Thursday night at the City Ground and a shock 2-0 home defeat for Forest to Brentford.

So this is how the Premier League table now currently (morning of Friday 2 May 2025) looks after last night’s Forest defeat:

As you can see, it is five points separating Newcastle United in third down to Aston Villa in seventh.

Forest with a win would have gone into third a point ahead of Newcastle BUT instead stay sixth and two points behind NUFC.

When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after last night’s Forest setback, reassessing how things are forecasted to turn out.

Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as of the morning of 2 May 2025:

As you can see, Man City now forecast to end up third on 69 points, just ahead of both Newcastle United on 68 points.

Forest then predicted to be two points adrift of NUFC on 66 points, Chelsea sixth and a point further back on 65 points.

Villa forecast to be seventh on 63 points, five points behind Newcastle.

Newcastle United now with seven wins in their last eight matches, including six wins from seven in the Premier League, ahead of Sunday’s visit to Brighton.
