The recognized supporter groups get the privileges that add so much color to home matches. That begins with the use of controlled smoke in the stadium. The privileges also include flags and tifos and playing of drums and other musical instruments.

During this off-season, there are three recognized supporter groups. They are: Black Swans Drinking Club, Iron Lion Firm, and The Ruckus.

Most importantly among the privileges, the supporter groups get a seat on the Fan Advisory Council. This isn’t just an opportunity to meet with Orlando City club officials and root for the team.

In 2014 when the advisory council was formed, the first actions included implementing a stated code of conduct, reinstating The Ruckus group, and suspending 15 fans.

This is a body where fans and supporter groups can officially express strong concerns. During this season, there was a movement across MLS by fans opposing the league’s de-emphasis of the historic U.S. Open Cup in favor of the Leagues Cup competition.

Orlando City was one of the MLS clubs completely removed from U.S. Open Cup matches and only competed in the Leagues Cup. Many supporter groups voted to boycott the Leagues Cup games. But not all did.

The Ruckus reported that over half of their members supported normal attendance during these matches.

The Fan Advisory Council is a useful forum for such concerns. When one pops up during the 2025 season, sharing the exchange in a public statement would be helpful for all to understand the issues more fully.

Finally, Orlando City officially recognizes international supporter groups.

Officially recognized groups around the world are in the International Fan Club Program. The first recognized was Torcida Orlando City Brasil. This group has since gone quiet. Its archives are maintained by Orlando City UK. This is the sole recognized International Fan Club group at this time.

All the supporter groups, international and local, are rich sources of news and issues surrounding Orlando City SC. All fans should include their online content when getting up to speed on what’s happening with the Lions.
