For their next three games, BVB will have nothing but "FCB" on their agenda. A blockbuster Champions League tie with FC Barcelona awaits, including a quick Bundesliga intermission against Bayern in Münich. What could go wrong, right?
While Dortmund is coming off promising back-to-back wins against Mainz and Freiburg, it needs to be said that Barcelona is moving in a different stratosphere this season. The Catalans are undefeated in 2025, with their last loss dating back to December. Hansi Flick has put together a historic offense with this group, who currently sit atop the La Liga table and, for many, are the favorites to win the UCL as well.
Looking back at the most recent meeting between these two clubs (a closely contested 3-2 for Barca at Signal Iduna Park), you'll notice a couple of things have changed. Nuri Sahin still had a seat in the dugout at that time, and players like Carney Chukwuemeka or Daniel Svensson hadn't even arrived yet.
