Vincent Kompany has a big decision to make when it comes to deciding whether Harry Kane is fit enough to start for Bayern Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt in today’s Bundesliga game at the Allianz Arena.
The Englishman lasted just 45 minutes against Celtic on Tuesday because of a calf problem and was then absent from training. But Kane did feature in their final training session on Saturday, and Kompany will make a late decision on the player’s involvement against Eintracht. Should Bayern’s top scorer start on the bench, either Thomas Müller or Serge Gnabry would likely start, but Jamal Musiala has also been used as the focal point in Kane’s absence.
Other’s than Kane’s questionability, Kompany has a full-strength squad to choose from. Kingsley Coman could also be in contention for a start should Kane miss today’s game, with Musiala or Michael Olise playing as a false nine, and the Frenchman coming into the squad.
Earlier in the week, Christian Falk suggested that Kim Min-jae could take some time away from Bayern’s starting line-up, but Sky Germany suggest that he will play alongside Dayot Upamecano against Eintracht. But in the event that the South Korean defender does miss today’s game, two options for Kompany are Hiroki Ito and Eric Dier.
Manuel Neuer – Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Kim Min-jae, Alphonso Davies – Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka – Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané – Thomas Müller
