Christian Pulisic missed a penalty for AC Milan in their 2-1 defeat against Torino last night. Today, the American published a message on social media for the fans, effectively apologising for not converting the chance.
It was in the 31st minute that the referee pointed to the spot, following a handball on a Torino defender, and Pulisic stepped up to find the equaliser for Milan. However, his strike was denied by the goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who made a good stop.
It’s a miss that proved costly for Milan as they had to wait deep into the second half for an equaliser, at which point there was less time to work with. On his Instagram account today, Pulisic published a message for the fans and admitted that it has been a really tough week.
“Really tough week. Hate letting down this amazing fan base. Will give everything to finish this season on a positive note,” he wrote.
Bologna are up next for Milan and Pulisic will surely play from the first minute, especially since the game is scheduled for Thursday and not Tuesday or Wednesday (more time to regain fitness).
