Ahead of the Coppa Italia game against AC Milan, Claudio Ranieri has spoken about the Rossoneri and their increase since Sergio Conceicao’s arrival.
There have been mixed reviews of the Portuguese head coach’s tenure so far, with Milan lacking consistency still. However, Conceicao is determined to better the club’s fortunes, and it feels like much of the fanbase supports him, which it did not often feel like under Paulo Fonseca.
The Rossoneri are not the only club to change coaches this season, and Claudio Ranieri has helped Roma get back on track after his appointment in the early parts of this season.
Today, the head coach spoke about the quality that the Diavolo hold, despite their misfortunes so far, and his words to Sportsmediaset have been relayed by Milan News.
“Is the Italian Cup semi-final a goal? The objective is to do well against AC Milan. We know they haven’t lost at home for 12 games, the last one was against Napoli. Since Conceiçao arrived, they have had five wins, two draws and two defeats.
“We are going up against a team full of talent and champions. We want to do well and pass the round. We are aware that we are facing a great team and we will try to play our game.
On the match against AC Milan…
“I expect a difficult match but we are ready to face a great team. Milan can explode, they can play in attack, they have quality players.”
Reports have already stated that Milan are set to play with a full-strength XI in the game tomorrow evening, so Ranieri will not be given a ‘free pass’ at an easier game, so to speak, with Conceicao determined to progress far in the Coppa Italia.
